ERLIN ERVIN SCHULTZ April 28, 1946 – November 18, 2018 Erlin Ervin Schultz, age 72, a long time Park Rapids/Osage, MN area resident, peacefully passed from this life to eternal life on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids with his loved ones at his side. Erlin was born April 28, 1946 to Arnold and Gladys (Ruzicka) Schultz in Pine City, MN. His family lived in many locations as a child. At a young age, he found his love of auctions and would skip school to go to the local auction barn. At the age of 16, he started his first furniture store in Pine City, MN. Erlin met Veronica Shepersky on a Greyhound bus in August of 1965 and they were married in Minneapolis on July 8, 1966. To that union, a son, Delano was born on June 7, 1967 and a daughter, Angela on Oct. 4, 1968. They made their first home on a farm near Sauk Rapids, MN. Erlin started a furniture store in St. Cloud and also ran consignment auction sales in Foreston, MN. In 1971, he moved his family to Osage, MN and started a furniture, tool and misc. store in Park Rapids. Erlin was a wheeler-dealer, owning several homes and also a couple of businesses in Osage, MN. In 1972, Erlin started Budget Furniture in Litchfield, MN which his brother-in-law, Harold Shepersky ran for him. In 1976, he started Frontier Village, a clothing, tool, and misc. store in Osage, MN which he operated until May 26, 1978 when he sold the building and had an auction sale to sell out the inventory. He owned and operated the Perham Sale Barn in the early ’80s. He was very business minded and did very well at whatever he endeavored. He also was an auctioneer his entire adult life and developed a sales barn on his farm to run auctions as North Country Auctions which he dedicated himself to until his retirement. Due to failing health, Erlin moved to the Heritage Living Center in May of 2016. Erlin is survived by a son, Delano (Doreen) Schultz of Rice, MN and Daughter, Angela (Joe) Brumbaugh of Menahga, MN; four dearly loved grandchildren: Cody Brumbaugh, Caitlin Brumbaugh, Danielle Schultz, and Denise Schultz; two brothers: David (Loretta) Schultz and Dale Schultz. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services are set for 7 PM Wednesday evening, November 28, 2018 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids. Visitation will begin at 5 PM.
