ZACHARIAH JOSHUA HOOKER December 17, 1993 – July 19, 2020 Zachariah Joshua Hooker, age 26, a lifelong Lake Hattie/ Lake Alice area resident, died suddenly and tragically while suffering a seizure at his home Sunday morning, July 19, 2020. Zach was born six weeks premature on December 17, 1993 at the Dakota Hospital in Fargo, ND to Dean and Monica (Rock) Hooker. He grew up in Lake Hattie Township and attended schools in Park Rapids, graduating with the Class of 2012 from the Park Rapids Public High School. Zach loved music, walking through the beautiful country landscape of Lake Hattie and Lake Alice Townships. He enjoyed gunsmithing and collecting guns. He was skilled at repairing and building rifles and pistols of all types. Zach loved his family which is very close and really enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, all his cousins, and especially enjoyed his Aunt Millie and cousin, Jahred Boyd. Zach loved gaming with his nephew, Mason Taylor, who was also one of his very best friends. He would spend hours feeding and watching the birds that graced his home. He also treasured going out to California and living with his sister, Nicole for a time. Zach’s life was centered by his strong faith and he was proud to be named after two very strong biblical prophets. Above all, Zach cherished his parents and sisters and made a lifetime of happy memories with them. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Dean and Monica; his four sisters: Cassandra Hooker of Park Rapids, Nicole Powers of Murrieta, CA, Gabriella Hooker of Park Rapids and Katie Hooker of Arlington, VA; his brother, David Hooker of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his nephew, Mason Taylor of Mankato, MN; 3 nieces, Kylie and Kendall Cronemiller of Onamia, MN and Meadow Rock of Park Rapids; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends; including Mike Stevens and Taylor Hooker. Zach was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Earl and Mildred Hooker and his maternal grandmother, Hannah Rock; he was also preceded in death by his older brother, Joshua James who died at the age of three and half years; his niece, Willow Forsberg and his brother-in-law, Angus Powers. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, August 3, 2020 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids with the Rev. Justin Fenger officiating. The casket bearers will be: James Hooker, Bryan Hooker, Mike Stevens, Cassandra Hooker, Nicole Powers, Gabrielle Hooker and Mason Taylor. Honorary casket bearer will be Jahred Boyd. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 PM on Sunday, August 2nd at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home and will continue beginning 10 AM Monday morning. Interment will be made at the Lake Alice Cemetery.
