William Ray Bubb

  WILLIAM RAY BUBB March 14, 1939 – October 17, 2018             William Ray Bubb, age 79, of Park Rapids, MN, formerly of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Essentia Health Medical Center in Fargo, ND with his brother, Gus Wickey at his side.           Bill was born on March 14, 1939 in Sioux City, Iowa to Raymond and Bonnie (Webb) Bubb.  Bill attended public schools in Sioux City, graduating from the Central High School in 1956.  After high school, Bill entered the United States Navy where he proudly served his country in the coastal waters off France, England and Spain on the first US Guided Missile Cruiser until receiving his honorable discharge in 1971.  Bill then stayed in California for a time where he did factory work and also built large stainless steel semi tanker trailers for several years.  He then returned to Sioux City, Iowa where he began working as a welder for the Sioux Tractor Company.  On July 6th of 1973, Bill was married to Kathy Church in Sioux City, Iowa.  His career with Sioux Tractor spanned until his retirement.  In 2017, Bill moved to Park Rapids, MN where he could be near his brother, Gus Wickey and his sister, Delores Sanson.            He is survived by three sons and two daughters; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and his brother, Gus Wickey and sister, Delores (David) Sanson both of Park Rapids.           Private family services are being planned.
