TERRY LEE CONNELL

May 3, 1951 – December 27, 2019

     Terry Lee Connell, age 68, of Cabool, MO, formerly of Park Rapids & Detroit Lakes, MN, peacefully passed into Heaven’s splendor with his loved ones at his side in the early morning hours of Friday, December 27, at the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga, MN.

     Terry was born on May 3, 1951 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Patrick and Violette (Fingalson) Connell.  He attended public school in Detroit Lakes graduating from Detroit Lakes High School with the class of 1969.  Following his high school years, Terry enlisted the U.S. Army and proudly served his country as a medic.  After his honorable discharge, he returned to Minnesota where he gained employment and went on to attend college in Minneapolis for a time.  In 1976, Terry met the love of his life, Kathy Petersen in Park Rapids.  The two became best friends and soulmates. They journeyed throughout the U.S. making their home in several states.  Terry was gifted in sales and marketing and particularly enjoyed working in real estate.  He enjoyed spending time at his cabin north of Park Rapids.  He loved the outdoors, particularly hunting, hiking, fishing, and dark house spearing.  He also enjoyed collecting and refurbishing antiques.  He was a voracious reader who enjoyed reading history.  Most recently he and Kathy have made their home in Cabool, Missouri.  Terry had a kind and loving spirit who lived his life the way he believed he should with his forever best friend, Kathy.

     He will be lovingly remembered by Kathy of Cabool, MO; his mother, Violette Lemmon of Detroit Lakes, MN; his brother, Steve (Kathy) Connell of Sebeka, MN; his sister, Lori (Troy) Miller of Carson, ND; his brother,  Mark (Wendi) Lemmon of New London, Iowa; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

     Terry was preceded in death by his dad, Bert Patrick; and his step-father, Keith Lemmon.

     Visitation will be held 2-3 PM, Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home, Park Rapids, MN with the memorial service beginning at 3 PM.
