Patricia (Schmidt) DeBlieck, age 93, passed away peacefully on Friday July 8, 2022 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, North Carolina.
Patricia Ann was born June 27, 1929 in Tracy, Minnesota the daughter of Frank and Teresa Schmidt. She was the third of fourteen children and grew up on a farm near Milroy, Minnesota. She married Donald DeBlieck in November of 1949. They raised seven children and lived in several towns in Minnesota and North Dakota before settling in Park Rapids.
Always busy, Pat and Don owned and operated the Pair-A-Dise Motel for many years as well as an antique and craft shop. She was an active member of St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church. At age fifty five Pat decided that she would try something new every year. These activities included: learning to swim, scuba diving, playing guitar, playing tennis, and more. Talented in so many ways, Pat was an accomplished seamstress as well as excellent cook. She also enjoyed spending time with and entertaining family and friends. Always a lover of music, Pat felt that Park Rapids needed a music store and so she opened the Music Shop on Main Street in Park Rapids.
Preceded in death by husband Donald, sons Thomas and Jerome, and grandson Stephen DeBlieck. Survived by brothers; Donald (Dick), William (Bill), and Larry; sisters; Marge Bailey and Jacquelyn (Gary) Lee; sons; Douglas (Rosemary), Brian (Carol), and Bradley (Lois); daughters; Gwendolyn DeBlieck and Elizabeth DeBlieck; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Friday July 15th at St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids, Minnesota.
