Marvin Lucien Nelmark

Marvin Lucien Nelmark, 83, of Frazee, passed away peacefully Friday, July 19, 2019. Marvin was born February 20, 1936 in Chicago, IL to Henry and Marie Nelmark. Marvin spent his youth in Chicago and his teens in the Toad Lake Township area. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1953.

In September of 1956, he was united in marriage to June Maninga at Spruce Grove Apostolic Lutheran Church in Wolf Lake, MN. They were the first couple to be married there. In the fall of 1957 Marvin and June moved to Chicago and raised their family of five children. Marvin worked tirelessly to provide for his family.

Marvin and June moved back to the Wolf Lake Area in 1991 to retire. They helped their sons Tad and Tate farm, and enjoyed their retirement.  In his spare time, Marvin enjoyed the outdoors; he liked fishing and deer hunting. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  He was an active member of the Spruce Grove Apostolic Lutheran Church.

Marvin will be lovingly remembered by his children: Taryn (James) Schultz of Gurnee IL, Todd (Julie) of Naperville IL, Troy (Matt) of Chicago IL, Tad (Julia) and Tate (Mary Ann) of Frazee MN; 14 grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Active Pallbearers - Marvin’s Grandsons: Erik, Ethan, Evan and Eliot Schultz; Tate Jr., Samuel, William and Matthew Nelmark.

Honorary Pall Bearers – Marvin’s Granddaughters: Hannah, Jordan, Claire, Emily, Natalie and Mary Eleanor Nelmark.

Visitation: 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2019 at Spruce Grove Apostolic Lutheran Church, Wolf Lake, MN. and on Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

Funeral service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Spruce Grove Apostolic Church of Wolf Lake, MN. with Pastor Dennis Hannu officiating. Refreshments following funeral services at the church.
