Linda Stearns

January 17, 1951 — February 24, 2022

Linda Faye (Maunu) Stearns, 71, of Osage, Minnesota passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. Linda Faye Maunu was born on January 17, 1951, in Menahga, Minnesota to Joel and Ellen (Nevala) Maunu. Linda graduated from Menahga High School as valedictorian in 1968. She met the love of her life, David Stearns, in high school and they were united in marriage on February 17, 1968. The couple were blessed with two children Tina and Aaron and were absolutely devoted to their family. They bought a farm in 1972 on the Ponsford prairie. Together they built (with no electricity!) their home in the middle of January in Osage, Minnesota where she resided until her passing. Linda was proud to be one of the first female workers at Graco. David and Linda started a construction business called D & L Construction and they worked side-by-side building homes for many years. Linda and David did everything together including family trips in the spring to Canada to hunt and fish. Linda was an excellent cook and she spent time learning with her mother-in-law Lucille at their farm. Linda was well known for her pies, bread, and her holiday meals. She enjoyed cutting her grass and took pride in having a well taken care of yard and home. Linda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; she was her grandchildren’s caregiver from six months to school age. Family meant everything to her, and she loved spending time with them. Linda was a beautiful and strong woman; she was not afraid to get dirty or to do challenging work. She had a strong faith in Jesus that helped her through tough times and loneliness. Deeply loved, Linda’s passing will be mourned by her children Tina (Chris) Schulz and Aaron (Missy) Stearns; her grandchildren Nick (Bethany) Schulz, Noah Schulz, Emily Schulz, Kaleb Stearns, Elias Stearns, and Seth Stearns; her great-grandchildren Zach and Josie; her sisters Diane (Dorrance) Warmbold and Deb (Tom) Olufson and her nieces and nephews. Her family is at peace with the knowledge that she has been joined in Heaven with her husband David, her parents, sister Doris Ihme and her parents-in-law Boyd and Lucille Stearns. Interment will be held in May 2022.
