Libuse "Libby" Olga Tweedale

      Libuse “Libby” Tweedale passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 5, 2018 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Park Rapids, MN at the age of 96.

      The Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, December 17, 2018 at Calvary Lutheran Church at 11 a.m.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.  In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in the memory of Libby to the White Bear Area Senior Program, 2484 East County Road F, White Bear Lake, MN, 55110.

      Libuse Olga Stasek was born on October 31, 1922 in Stickney, IL and married Jack Tweedale on April 10, 1944.  They purchased their first home in White Bear Lake, MN where they raised three wonderful boys.  Libby retired from the Minnesota Historical Society after 25 years of service.  She then volunteered at the White Bear Lake Senior Center for another 25 years and has a library dedicated to her called “Libby’s Library”.  Libby’s passion for life was amazing and was a role model for many people as she made her journey through life.  Libby was an extremely strong, compassionate woman with many talents such as embroidery, sewing, and baking.  In her earlier years, she was a wonderful sketch artist and baseball player.  Her interests are too many to mention but some of her favorites were gardening, bird watching and traveling.   She was an avid reader and continued to read the paper cover to cover even at 96 years of age.  Libby touched many lives and made everyone feel special.  She will be missed by many.

      Libby was also a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, Minnesota.

      Libby will be lovingly remembered by her children Cliff (Joan), Craig (Mary Lou) and Jon (Marcy). Grandchildren, Justin Tweedale (Carly), Christopher Tweedale, Alicia Rodman (Will) and Andy (Amy) Tweedale along with three great-grandchildren Lorelei Rodman, Conor Rodman, and Clara Tweedale.

      Libby was preceded in death by Jack Tweedale, her parents Joseph and Mary Stasek, her brothers Leonard and George Stasek and her sister Miroslava Stasek.

      Arrangements were made with the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, Minnesota.
