Laura A. Johnson

Laura A. Johnson, age 92 a long time Osage area resident, peacefully entered eternal life on Monday August 15, 2022, at the CHI St. Joseph’s Hospital.

 Laura was born on January 7, 1930, to Albin and Julia (Lubinski) Dostal in Badger on the farm. She grew up in Badger where she attended public school, graduating with the class of 1948.   She went on to earn her teaching certificate and taught country school for three years. She was united in marriage to Ted Johnson on October 19, 1953.  Their marriage was blessed with six children: Loretta, Doug, Noel, Greg, Jean, and Mike. After their marriage they lived in Warroad for 13 years.   In 1966, they moved to Osage, Minnesota and lived there for 27 years where she raised 6 children in Smoky Hills. She did a lot of odd jobs in the later years as a cook and housekeeping.  She was a long time member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and was very active in the church. She especially enjoyed singing in the church choir and was a song leader.  

Laura will be lovingly remembered by, Loretta (Don) Nilson of Park Rapids, Minnesota; Noel (Vickie) Johnson of Akley, Minnesota; Greg (Anita) Johnson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jean Fergeson of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; Mike (Julie) Johnson Park Rapids, Minnesota; 17 grandchildren; 13 precious great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Johnson; her son, Doug; all her bothers and sisters; and her parents.
