LARRY ALLEN BAXTER August 13, 1951 – November 1, 2019           Larry Allen Baxter, age 68, of Park Rapids, MN, passed into eternal life on November 1, 2019 in his home.       Larry was born August 13, 1951 to Tilford and Elsie (Cumber) Baxter in Park Rapids, MN.  He attended grade school and then graduated from Park Rapids High School with the class of 1969.  In January of 1971, Larry enlisted with the United States Army and was stationed in Texas and Germany.  Following his honorable discharge, he enrolled in the Wadena Vo-Tech School for radio communications and then went on to Bemidji State University for Law Enforcement.  Larry was employed as a dispatcher and jailer with the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, served as Chief of Police for Akeley, MN, worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for Jones Ambulance, delivered fuel for H & N Distributing, and worked with Skelgas of Park Rapids up until his retirement in 2016.       Larry was married to Carla Hubbard on October 1, 1994 and they were blessed with a daughter, Cassie Mae.  Larry took special pride in his beautiful daughter and enjoyed going fishing and camping with her whenever time allowed.  He was a very devoted father who loved her with all of his heart.  Larry loved hunting and fishing his entire life, especially with his brother, Jim.  The two of them never missed a fishing opener!  After his retirement, Larry met his friends at the Great Northern Café for breakfast every morning.              Larry is survived by his daughter, Cassie Mae Baxter of Park Rapids, MN; brother, Jim (Barbara) Baxter of Osakis, MN; sister, Colleen (Bill) Tracy of Nevis, MN; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.       He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers: Robert, who died in infancy, and Douglas.       Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home, Park Rapids, MN.  Visitation will begin one hour prior to the services.  The Star Of The North Marine Corps League will provide the military honors.
