Kenneth Gordon Lymburner

Kenneth Gordon Lymburner Kenneth Gordon Lymburner, 88, of Osage, MN, peacefully passed into eternal life on September 16, 2023, at Heritage Living Center where he was surrounded by his family. Ken was born on November 24, 1934, at home near Ponsford, MN, to Frank and Grace (Anderson) Lymburner. He was raised on his family farm on the Ponsford prairie and walked to Linnell country school in Carsonville Township. Ken attended Park Rapids Area High School and graduated with the class of 1954. Ken joined the Army on October 23, 1956, and proudly served his country as an Ajax Missile Defense Crewman until October 22, 1958. On January 4, 1958, he was united in marriage to Donna Kathryn Hendrickson at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wolf Lake, MN. They made their home on Straight Lake in Osage and were blessed with four children: Robert, Thomas, Jill, and David. Ken and Donna were married for 65 years. After serving in the Army, Ken worked for Kimber Awning in Fergus Falls, MN, until he moved his craft into his dad’s barn. In 1964, Ken built Lymburner Awning in Osage. He owned and operated Lymburner Awning and Arctic. In 2014, at the age of 80, he retired from the awning business after 50 years. Ken had a servant's heart. Throughout his life he was a member of the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge, and the Osage Sportsman and Lions clubs. Ken also served as a director for Itasca Mantrap. Ken valued and served the area’s younger generation. He played Santa Claus for many years, made hundreds of wooden ducks for elementary students to sand and paint, and built the diving raft at the Osage beach. In addition to selling and servicing Arctic Cat snowmobiles, Ken enjoyed racing; including the International 500 race from Winnipeg to St. Paul. Ken was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially looked forward to hunting elk out west each fall. Ken was an exceptional artist. He tied flies for trout fishing and won several awards for his beautiful wood carvings. Ken will be lovingly remembered by his three children, Tom (LeAnn) Lymburner of Hinckley, MN, Jill Stevenson and David Lymburner of Osage; five grandchildren, Lisa (Ryan) Koenigs, Cory (Katie) Lymburner, Levi Stevenson, Laken (Nate) Pillsbury, and Lexi Stevenson; five great grandchildren, Selah Lymburner, Molly, Arthur, and Franklin Koenigs, and Wilson Pillsbury; one brother, Carl (Edie) Lymburner, of Park Rapids, MN, one sister, Bonnie (Earl) Miller, of Spring Lake Park, MN, as well as many nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his son, Bobby; parents, Frank and Grace; granddaughter, Grace Lymburner; and loving wife, Donna. A visitation will be held at Jones-Pearson’s Funeral Home on Friday, September 29, from 5:00 to 7:00. The funeral is at Grace Community Church in Osage on Saturday, September 30, at 11:00, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Linnell Cemetery.
