JERRY LEE BRUMBAUGH

June 14, 1954 – October 21, 2020

      Jerry Lee Brumbaugh, age 66, of Park Rapids, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at his mother’s home on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones.

      Jerry was born on June 14, 1954 in Park Rapids, MN to Glenn and Irene (Cooper) Brumbaugh.  Jerry lived all of his life at the family home on Hwy 71.  He attended Park Rapids public schools and graduated with the class of 1972.  Upon graduating, Jerry became a custodian/maintenance worker for Park Rapids schools, earning a Chief Engineer License as a boiler operator in 1986.  Due to his health, Jerry retired in 2016 after 42 years of continual service.

      Jerry was a kind and quiet man who enjoyed the outdoors.  He made yearly hunting trips to South Dakota with “the guys” and bagged many bucks.  Jerry enjoyed bird hunting in his younger years, but his first love was fishing, especially with his family.

      Jerry never married, but he was a family man.  Family meant the world to him and his friends were also like family. 

      Jerry was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Glenn; brother, Gene; and brother-in-law, Virgil.

      He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Irene Willenbring; sisters: Carole Palmer of Ponca City, OK and Debra (Dave) Hacker of Menahga, MN; sister-in-law, Charlene Brumbaugh of Park Rapids, MN; four nephews; one niece; and many other relatives and friends.

      In remembrance, donations can be made to the local animal shelter in Jerry’s name or to St. Joseph’s Hospice of Park Rapids.

      Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home, Park Rapids, MN followed by the funeral services at 7 PM.  Interment will be in the Arago-Clover-Evergreen Cemetery, Park Rapids, MN.
