James "Jim" Michael Samsa

JAMES MICHAEL “JIM” SAMSA June 13, 1955 – November 6, 2020 James Michael “Jim” Samsa, age 65 years, of Park Rapids, MN, formerly of Vancouver, WA and Chisholm, MN, peacefully passed into eternity on Friday, November 6, 2020 in the comfort of his home with his loving wife by his side. Jim was born on June 13, 1955 to Stanley and Lois (Powers) Samsa in Chisholm, MN. He attended public school and graduated with the Chisholm High School class of 1973. In the mid-1970s, Jim was married to Sheryl Hendrickson and they were blessed with 3 children: Michael, Tyler, and Laura. On December 28, 1990, Jim married his best friend and soulmate, Kimberly Stephens in Vancouver, WA. Jim worked as a mechanic for 17 years in Wyoming, Oregon, California, and Washington State. In 1991, Jim and Kimberly moved to Park Rapids, MN and he began working for Lamb Weston/RDO for 20 years until his retirement. Jim is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kimberly Samsa; mother, Lois Samsa of Chisholm, MN; children: Michael (Sarah) Samsa, Tyler Samsa, Laura Samsa, and their mom, Sheryl, all of Vancouver, WA; grandchildren: Mikayla, Danacia, Ekovah, Calvin, Devin, and Bishop; special brother-in-law, Todd Hendrickson; siblings: Terry (Cinda) Samsa, Jeff (Debbie) Samsa, Kathy (David) Cianni, Mary (Cory) Lundin; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Jim loved music; especially polka music to which he loved to dance and play the accordion too! He also enjoyed tinkering in his shop as much as possible. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley; in-laws, Hugo and Joyce Hendrickson, and Dolores Kiedrowski. Private family services are being held.
