Harriet Lois (Madson) Johnson, age 89, of Park Rapids, MN, formerly of Nevis, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 21, 2025, at CHI St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids, MN, with her family by her side.

Harriet Madson was born on November 3, 1935, in Wright, MN, the daughter of the late Earl and Bernice (Whitton) Madson. She lived in Wright until 5th grade when the family moved to Brainerd, MN. On May 14, 1955, she was united in marriage to Harley Johnson in Emmet County, Iowa. Together they owned and operated Little John’s Resort on Belle Taine Lake in Nevis, MN. She also worked as a cook at the Great Northern Café in Park Rapids, MN. In her free time, she liked to quilt, crochet, read, bowl, and go to Bingo.

Harriet is survived by her children, Robin Teigan, Kathy Johnson, Steve (Debbie) Johnson, and Sandy Johnson; 8 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren and one more on the way; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Johnson; parents, Earl and Bernice Johnson; brother, Robert Madson; and sister, Joyce Nagle.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Jones Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
