Gerald Duane Skaja

Gerald “Jerry” Duane Skaja, age 78 of Park Rapids, MN unexpectedly passed away into eternity on Wednesday May 19, 2021. Jerry was born on July 22nd, 1942 to Walter and Thelma Skaja in Deer River, MN. Jerry was married to Judith Stene in Fountain, CO. This union was blessed with 4 children. Jerry worked as a local carpenter in the Park Rapids community for the past 30 years and loved to create beautiful living environments for his clients. When he wasn’t working on homes, he loved to create furniture and other beautiful items out of wood. He will be lovingly remembered by his family of 4 children: Michelle Domjahn, John (Carla), Holly (Jim) Halloran, and Judy Skaja; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters Jeanette Walberg and Carrie Luthy; sisters in-law Geraldine Skaja and Shirley “Ann” Tovsen; brothers in-law Doug Tovsen and Curtis Eide; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Judy; his parents; brother, Al Skaja; and sister, Donna Eide. “A life so beautiful deserves a special celebration. We will be honoring Jerry and celebrating his life on Saturday, July 17, 2021. The event will take place at the American Legion in Park Rapids from 4pm to 7pm."
