FRANCES “FRAN” STAFFENHAGEN APRIL 14, 1936 – AUGUST 7, 2020 Frances “Fran” (Safratowich) Staffenhagen, age 84, of the Park Rapids/Akeley area, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020 from injuries due to a fall after suffering a stroke. Fran was born on April 14, 1936 in Belfield, ND to Frank and Tillie Safratowich, and moved to Park Rapids as a small child. She graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1954. Fran married Alfred Staffenhagen Jr and they had two children: Alfred III, and Crystal. She is survived by two sisters: Millie, and Pat; a brother, Ben; her son, Alfred III; two grandsons: Justin, and Jerry; a granddaughter, Isobella; and two great-granddaughters: Liliya, and Lilly. Fran was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Tillie; four brothers: Johnny, Joseph, Richard, and Victor; her sister, MaryAnn; her husband, Alfred Jr; and her daughter, Crystal. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the Akeley Cemetery. A small gathering will follow the service at Tom Moore’s in Akeley.
