In keeping with Evie’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a graveside service with celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Two Inlets Township, Minnesota.
Evie was born in Straight River Township, Minnesota, to Charles and Jenny (Fox) Knowles. She was raised on the family farm alongside her nine siblings, attended country school, and graduated from Menahga High School.
On October 20, 1947, Evie was united in marriage to the love of her life, Robert Eischens, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and the outdoors. They enjoyed traveling on numerous vacations, snowmobiling the Minnesota trails, and spending time outdoors, creating countless memories together throughout the years.
Evie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo, trying her luck with pull-tabs, and spending time with family and friends, where laughter and stories were always plentiful. She especially enjoyed watching hummingbirds gather at her feeders each summer, finding peace and happiness in their colorful presence.
Above all, Evie treasured her family. She found her greatest joy in being surrounded by those she loved and cherished every opportunity to gather with her children and the generations that followed. Her gentle spirit, quiet strength, and unconditional love will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish Evie’s memory include her children, Sherry (Arthur) Peterson, Robert (Pam) Eischens, Linda Dahl, Michael Eischens, Patrick (Ione) Eischens, Colleen (Lee) Gwiazdon, Christine Zuk, and Troy Eischens; 105 descendants through her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Evie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Eischens; her parents, Charles and Jenny (Fox) Knowles; her grandson, Payton Vry; and her siblings, Emmert Knowles, Orville Knowles, Christine Annette, Winnie Stimpson, Beatrice Knowles, Sadie Hanisch, Alva Day, Corven Knowles, and Lawrence Knowles.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Diamond Willow Assisted Living and St. Joseph’s Hospice for the exceptional care, kindness, and support they provided to Evie and her family.
