Eva Rose Heyer, age 86, of Chaska, MN, previously of Park Rapids, MN, died on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Eva was born on June 7, 1937, in Kingston, MN the daughter of John Hjalmer and Florence Loretta (Hess) Raskie.
She grew up on the family farm where she attended the local District 1 Country School of Kingston. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Harken Heyer on June 23, 1956. They were blessed with three sons, Eugene, David, and Keith.
After farming in Litchfield for a few years, they moved to Minneapolis in 1960, where Eva ran a home daycare for 25 years. She was then employed by United Mailing until her retirement in 1991, when she and Larry moved to a hobby farm near Park Rapids.
Eva was involved with the Park Rapids Antique Tractor Club for many years. Her hobbies included flower and vegetable gardening and taking care of the many pets they had throughout the years. She also loved reading and doing word search puzzles. She especially loved it when all the kids/grandkids would visit. She always had a pot of coffee ready for company.
She moved to Chaska Heights Assisted Living in April 2017, where she made many new friends. They loved to do puzzles and color together.
She is survived by her two sons, David and Keith (Karen); her sister Pamela Johanneck; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Larry, son Eugene, grandson Dylan, parents Florence and John, her brothers Glenn and Gerald (Iris), sisters Katherine Raskie and Shirley (Rodney) Anderson.
