Elizabeth Caroline Robbins

Elizabeth Caroline “Betty” Robbins, age 81, a longtime resident of Park Rapids, MN, passed peacefully Wednesday evening, June 5, 2024 in her home surrounded by her family.

Betty was born on September 12, 1942 in Hubbard Township, MN to Howard and Mary Annis. She attended school at the Hubbard country school and later Park Rapids High School.  After High school she was a waitress at a local restaurant and worked for the Ringer Sewing Company in Park Rapids, MN.  She was united in marriage to Kenneth Eugene Robbins on September 12, 1959. Their union was blessed with four sons: Keith, Roy, Jerry, and Loyd. In 1968 they moved to Spokane WA; it was there that they raised their family until they moved back to Park Rapids in 1984. When they returned, they built their home with the help of their family and have lived there ever since. 

Betty was close to her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She loved her flower gardens, especially her roses.  She also had a love for hummingbirds. She enjoyed embroidery and embroidered many sets of dish towels that she would give to family members. She devoted her life to her family and her husband Ken. They were married for 57 years. 

Betty is survived by her three sons: Keith, Roy, and Loyd (Jeri), all of Park Rapids; nine grandchildren: Tera (Brian) Garlie, Ryan Robbins, Michael Robbins, Matthew Robbins, Brighton Robbins, and Kodi Robbins; nine great-grandchildren: Mercedes (Matthew) Lund, Madison Robbins, Ethan Forseman, Justin Robbins, Alexia Robbins, Zachary Garlie, Samuel Garlie, Jackson Robbins,  and Roman Robbins; brothers: Maurice and Don Annis; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
