Earl Henry Disse

Earl Henry Disse, age 94, a lifelong resident of the Wolf Lake, MN area entered into eternal glory on Sunday April 3, 2022. His wish, he was at home with loved ones by his side. Earl is survived by his loving wife Evelyn of 63 years. Earl Henry Disse was born on February 5, 1928 to Edward and Sadie (Eidenschink) Disse. He was raised and attended school in Erie Township in rural Detroit Lakes, MN. Earl was united in marriage to Evelyn Helen Neske on February 7, 1959. After they married, they purchased Evelyn’s homestead farm from her mother Helen Neske. With their life they built together, they raised turkeys, Jersey milking cows and Angus cattle. During this time, they attended to their beautiful flower garden along with their large vegetable garden which included wild raspberries. They were inseparable. Earl’s greatest love was Evelyn. Together they donated their time maintaining the Zion Lutheran Cemetery for many years. After setting aside dairy farming which he never seemed to retire, he continued on creating iron lawn ornaments and planters. Earl enjoyed working with wood, making furniture and yard art. He also enjoyed polkas, waltzes and watching Molly B. on TV. Most importantly together they enjoyed spending time with friends and family. They never missed a family gathering where everyone enjoyed Earl’s great sense of humor. Earl will be greatly missed and remembered by his loving wife Evelyn, beloved dog Sporty, many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Sadie, his stepmother Myrtle Disse, siblings; Walter, Charles, Leonard, Art, George, Wilfred (Fritz), Alice Renner, Florence Johnson, and Irene Kohler. Mass of Christian Burial will be April 8, 2022 at 11 am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frazee, MN with Msgr. David Baumgartner officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 5 – 8 pm with a prayer service at 7:30 pm at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Snellman, MN.
