Derek John Sweere

Derek John Sweere May 12, 1979 - Oct. 17, 2020 Derek John Sweere, 41, of Perham, MN went to heaven on October 17, 2020 after a lifelong battle with mental illnesses. Derek was born May 12, 1979 in Wadena, MN. Derek was an avid fisherman, on the ice and in his boat. He also enjoyed hunting, gardening, and tinkering around his home. Derek loved spending time with his family and was very proud of his nephews and niece. Derek is survived by his brothers: Brian (Kimberly) Sweere, and Nick (Kris) Sweere; nephews: Levi, Logan, and Silas Sweere; niece, Lexi Sweere; grandmother, Betty Meadows, and grandmother, Lorraine Taggert, his beloved dog, Georgie; many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Derek is preceded in death by his mother, Connie Sweere; father, Kevin Sweere; and his grandfathers. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28th at 4 pm with a service at 5 pm at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home, Park Rapids, MN 56470
