Debra Eloise Esser

Debra Eloise (Wright) Esser, age 70, of Park Rapids, MN, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025, at her home with her husband by her side.

Debra Wright was born to Harold and Mildred (Wagner) Wright on August 7, 1955, at Corona Naval Hospital in Corona, CA. While her father served in the Marine Corps, she lived in California, Hawaii, Louisiana, eventually graduating high school and settling in California. She married Stephen Bergeson and with him she had 3 children, Sean, Stephen, and Sherise. On January 16, 1990, she was married to Henry Esser in Orange County, CA. In August of 1994, they moved to Park Rapids, MN, where she worked as an aide at the nursing home and then as a cashier at L and M Fleet. She was an avid bowler but most of all loved taking care of her family and pets.

Debra is survived by her husband of 35 years, Henry Esser; children, Sean (Kerrina), Stephen (Jennifer), and Sherise; stepchildren, Kristina (Neil) and Julian; 6 grandchildren; brother, David (Sherrie); sister, Sharon; and dog children, Minnie and Gidget; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Mildred.

Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Jones Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN, with a time for visitation one hour before. Inurned with her father at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery in Converse, LA.
