Darrel was born July 21, 1950, to Vera Clements and Ervin Dudley in Hood River, Oregon, and passed away January 25, 2022, in Bemidji, MN, at the age of 71. Darrel grew up in White Salmon, Washington. Darrel was a people person. He could strike up a conversation with anyone. Sometimes even finding they had mutual acquaintances or other ties. He was, to put it nicely, a collector of just about everything. He loved going to garage sales. A lot of times taking his Aunt Carolyn and sometimes Aunt Kay. He could spend the whole day at a sale and go back everyday it was open. He loved to square dance, traveling near and far for a dance. Hunting and fishing both fresh water and ice were also activities he enjoyed. He loved working with wood and building things. At the time of his retirement, he was working for the Skamania County Sherriff’s Department supervising a work release crew. He also worked as a Sears repairman, Burlington Northern Railroad, Klickitat County driving snowplow and A & A Building Supply in Goldendale, and an all around handy man. In high school he caught porcupines for the department of Natural Resources. Darrell is survived by his wife Sheila, daughters: Diane (Israel) Debbie, Darla (Tom), Shana (David), son; Doug (Pam), grandchildren: Coryn, Hunter, Sierra, Isaiah, Sarah and Kya, siblings: Steve (Diane), Deborah, Shirley (Chuck), Kathy (Keith), Dwayne (Jeannette), Gary (Tammy), David (Janie), Verna (Doug) and too many other family members to mention. He was proceeded in death by an infant son, Brother Lonnie, His parents, grandparents, and several aunts and uncles. A special thank you to Ruttgers Birchmont Lodge in Bemidji for all the support and care during such a difficult time and what they are offering for cancer patients at Sanford Joe Lueken Cancer Center. Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday February 19, 2022 at First English Lutheran Church, Dorset, Minnesota. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
