DARLENE MAE WILLIAMS December 15, 1939 – March 13, 2020 Darlene Mae Williams, age 80, of Park Rapids, MN, formerly of Cambridge, MN and Euclid, MN, peacefully passed from this life to eternal life in the early morning hours of Friday, March 13, 2020 in the comfort of her home with her husband, Frank and sister, Marge at her side. Darlene was born on December 15, 1939 in Euclid, MN to Paul and Annie Langle. She grew up on her parent’s farm near Euclid where she attended the Strickler Country School until going on to attend public schools in Warren, MN from where she graduated high school with the Class of 1957. Darlene then went on to attend the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks where she studied Home Economics. On February 13, 1960, she was united in marriage to Frank Williams in Euclid. Their marriage was blessed with four daughters: Vivian, Cindy, Gwenne and Colleen. Darlene devoted herself to making a loving home for her husband and girls. She was a wonderful cook and baker who will be long remembered for her delicious homemade meals. The young couple made their first home in Angus, MN and later moved to the Twin Cities area. In 1975, they moved out to Cambridge, MN where they made their home for thirty years. In addition to caring for her family, Darlene also gained employment with the Blue Fox Fishing Tackle Company of Cambridge where she invested 18 years. Upon their retirements in 2005, Darlene and Frank returned to retire on a portion of Frank’s family farm north of Park Rapids. In her spare time, Darlene enjoyed crocheting and working on family genealogy. Above all, Darlene looked forward to spending time with her family and especially enjoyed making wonderful memories with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Darlene will be lovingly remembered by her husband for these past 60 years, Frank of Park Rapids; four daughters: Vivian (Steve) Hutchens of Tony, WI, Cindy Komulainen of Anoka, MN, Gwenne (Sam) Ruiz of Ft. Myers, FL and Colleen (Curt) Nelson of Stacy, MN; ten dearly loved grandchildren; 3 precious great-grandchildren; her sister, Marge Cliff of Inver Grove Hts., MN; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dan (Mary) Williams, Henrietta “Hank” Neumayer all of Park Rapids and Harriett “Liz” Ruckel of Alamo, TX; special friends: Cole and Jan Murphy, Leslie, and June Seward, and Barb Parks, all of Park Rapids; Jan Nelson of Isanti, MN; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Martha and Pauline; 5 brothers-in-law: Maurice, George, Marvin, Vince and William. Visitation will be held 1-2 PM followed by the memorial services at 2 PM Thursday, March 19, 2020 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids.
