Dale Richard Raven, 82, passed away peacefully at Stanford Health Hospital on September 17, 2026.

Born on March 3, 1944, Dale was the middle child born to Stanley and Bernice (Hansen). He had an older brother, Ronnie, and a younger sister, Kathryn. Baby brother, Raymond, passed away at birth.

Dale was united in marriage to Jean (Ruter) on July 30, 1963. Together, they were blessed with two children, Scott and Stacy.

For many years, Dale had a passion for hunting, fishing, trapping, and working with his hands. He worked in many different trades such as carpentry, bricklaying, painting, plastics, landscaping, and manufacturing. He eventually taught himself the art of taxidermy and did this for many years.

Dale was passionate about exotic birds and other animals. He had a hobby farm which included peacocks, geese, ducks, horses, elk, and emus, to name just a few. He also spent many hours with his grandson, Matthew, and taught him to trap, hunt, and fish. His memory will live on.

Preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Bernice; brothers Ronnie and Raymond; and sister, Kathryn.

Left to honor his memory are his beloved wife of 63 years, Jean; children Scott (partner Mel Austin), Stacy; grandchildren: Tristan, James, Grace, Matthew, Lillian, William, Emma, and Thomas; many nephews and nieces; countless hunting and fishing buddies he met over the years; friends; and let's not forget the loyal sidekick hunting dogs: Gunner, Peewee, and Dreamy.

There is no memorial service planned at this time.

In place of flowers, memorials are preferred.
