CLIFFORD EARL JAMES February 18, 1957 – October 19, 2020 Clifford Earl James, age 63, a lifelong Park Rapids area resident, peacefully passed from this life to eternal life on Monday, October 19, 2020 at the Frazee Care Center in Frazee, MN. Cliff was born on February 18, 1957 in Park Rapids, to Marvin and Lela (Cripps) James. He grew up in Park Rapids where he attended public school and was part of the PRAHS Class of 1975. After high school, Cliff entered the United States Army and was based at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. After receiving his honorable discharge, Cliff returned to Park Rapids and studied auto body repair at the Detroit Lakes Vocational School. After his training, he ventured to Mason City, Iowa where he built campers and motorhomes for Winnebago. In 1978, Cliff was married to Cynthia Litzau and they were blessed with two daughters: Karmeen and Anita. In 1987 Cliff was united in marriage to Penny Louise Pickett in Park Rapids. They were blessed with two children: Hannah and Cody and made their home in Park Rapids where they raised their children and made their home for many years. In his spare time, Cliff enjoyed working with horses, hunting deer, and riding snowmobile. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Hannah (Daniel) James of Park Rapids, Cody (Kristin) James of Nevis, Karmeen (Mike) James of Menahga and Anita (Charlie) James of Park Rapids; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Violet (Gerald) Richards of Pine River, MN and his brother, Lorin James of Park Rapids; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Cliff was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Baeligh, and three brothers: Duane “Doc” James, Dennis James, and Barry James. Services will be held 5 PM Friday, October 30, 2020 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids with Dr. Vern Erickson officiating. His grandchildren will be serving as his urn bearers. Military honors will be conducted by the Star of The North Marine Corps League.
