Clifford William " Bill" Crowell

November 23, 1955 — December 9, 2021

Clifford William “Bill” Crowell, resident of Pine Point, lost his battle with cancer on December 9, 2021. He passed peacefully at home in his sleep with his wife Donna, very special granddaughter Makayla, and great grandson Isaac by his side. Bill was born on November 23, 1955, to Lucille and Clifford Crowell. He was a resident of Long Lost Lake until the age 5. He attended elementary school in Osage. Bill attended middle school in Park Rapids and the high school, graduating in 1973. Bill went on to Wahpeton State School of Science. He worked at Gulbranson Equipment in Park Rapids during high school. His hours were after school and on the weekends. He also worked for Acton Construction; he was active in the construction of Pine Point School. He returned to Gulbranson Equipment as a truck driver and mechanic. Bill married Donna Brown in December 1976. Out of this marriage two sons were born, John William in 1981, and Clifford Ernest in 1984. In 1981 Bill started driving truck over the road and logging. Bill started his own business called Crowell Logging and Trucking. Bill loved his work and eventually had his youngest son by his side in the business. Bill was actively working with the Tribal Council for Native issues. He attended tribal council meetings state wide. In September 2019, Bill was diagnosed with stomach cancer. He fought cancer for a year, then in 2020 the cancer moved to his liver and lungs. He lost the battle. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Lucille and Clifford Crowell, brothers; Ed Larson, Ray Larson, Leonard Larson, Jim Crowell, Fred Crowell, sister; Gayle Heinonen. He is survived by his wife Donna Crowell, sons; John and Clifford Crowell, sister; Patsy Safratowich, granddaughters; Monica, Makayla, Sierra, Aja, Grandsons; Jadon, Thomas, John, great grandson Isaac, Brothers; Lawrence “Sam” Crowell, Alvin ( Janet ) Gjestrum, Donavon Larson. He will be missed by many.
