FUNERAL SERVICES :will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, MN with Pastor Stephen Norby officiating.VISITATION : will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.INTERMENT :will be made at Greenwood Cemetery in Park Rapids, MN.SURVIVORS :Lois will be survived by her life long love, LuVern F. "Red" Erickson of Park Rapids; her sister, Gertrude (Don) Eberlein of Coon Rapids, MN and her sister-in-law, Elsie Erickson of Richfield, MN; as well as her nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. LOIS M. ERICKSON July 22, 1931 " June 17, 1910 Lois M. Erickson, age 78 of Park Rapids, MN, formerly of St. Anthony Village, MN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids following a valiant battle against cancer. Lois was born on July 22, 1931 in Minneapolis., MN to Prosper and Marguerite (Shepard) Gaudreau. She attended public schools in Minneapolis graduating from Edison High School with the Class of 1949. As a young woman, Lois gained employment working for Investors Syndicate as a key punch operator and book keeper. She was united in marriage to LuVern F. "Red" Erickson on May 21, 1955. Together they owned and operated the Merchants and then later the Red "E" Bar and Restaurant in Minneapolis for many years. In addition to helping with the family business, Lois also devoted herself to making a warm and loving home for her soulmate, Red. She was a wonderful cook and baker who will be long remembered for her delicious home cooking. They retired to the Nevis, MN area in the mid-1980"s and then to Park Rapids where they have made their home since 2000. Lois was a very out going and social person who enjoyed her involvements with her many friends in organizations like the Red Hatters and the Bonco Club. For a number of years now, Lois has been involved in a large gathering in Park Rapids called "The Heartland Roundup". She loved music and her all time favorite song was "Rain Drops Keep Falling On My Head" by B. J. Thomas. Above all, Lois will be remembered as a sincere and loving person who was always there to help and as a wife, sister and aunt who loved her family with all her heart. Lois will be survived by her life long love, LuVern F. "Red" Erickson of Park Rapids; her sister, Gertrude (Don) Eberlein of Coon Rapids, MN and her sister-in-law, Elsie Erickson of Richfield, MN; as well as her nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Lois was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids with the Reverend Steve Norby officiating. The organist will be Roz Pederson and the soloist will be Rev. Norby who will sing, "Beautiful Savior". Congregational hymns will be "Here I Am Lord", "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art". Honorary casket bearers will be her nieces; Wendy Swanson and Sandy Jachymowski. Interment will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery of Park Rapids, MN.
