NORMA ANN KAPELA May 19, 1941 - December 26, 2014 Norma Ann Kapela, Age 73 of Park Rapids, MN, formerly of Cannon Falls, MN passed away suddenly on Friday, December 26, 2014 at St Joseph's Area Health Service in Park Rapids, MN. Norma was born on May 19, 1941 in Park Rapids, MN to Glenn and Rose (Crane) Wilson. She attended Park Rapids Public High School graduating with the Class of1959. She married Robert Kapela on February 27, 1960. This union was blessed with two daughters: Dru and Penny. The couple lived in the Minneapolis area for years where Norma was employed as a Quality Control Inspection Supervisor at the Honeywell Corp. She was a wonderful cook and loved to spend time with her family. Norma loved dancing and getting lost in a good book. Following a dream in 1989, Norma connected with the love of her life, Richard Hall and they moved to Robbinsdale, MN. They shared two decades of happiness and memories together, raising Norma's grandchildren together as well as intertwining one another's families to create a large and loving extended family. Together, they also raised their "child", Cody, an adventurous chocolate cocker spaniel. As the years went by and health problems arose, the pair decided to sell their house in Robbinsdale and moved back to Richard's hometown of Cannon Falls, MN where they resided until his death in 2012. Norma spent her final years at home in Park Rapids with her beloved Cody where she lived surrounded by her extended family and friends. Norma lived her life to the absolute fullest and enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren as well as other dearly loved family members. For Norma, family was never about the blood it was always about the love and as her favorite saying goes "it's in the blood" and Norma's was filled with lots of love. Norma will be lovingly remembered by her twodaughters: Dru of Fergus Falls, MN; and Penny of California; five grandchildren: Justin (Mattea) Schmitz of Rochester, Jamie Darchuk of Sauk Rapids, James Norgaard III of Minneapolis, Jacy Norgaard of Minneapolis and Jesse Kapela of Park Rapids; her sister, Donna (Eddie) Maunu of Medina, MN and her life long sister, Mae Benjamin of Park Rapids as well as many nieces, nephews and the entire Richard Hall Family of Cannon Falls, MN. Norma was preceded in death by her love, Richard Hall her parents, Glenn and Rose Wilson, and two brothers, Leslie Lee and Robert Glenn. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Faithbridge Church in Park Rapids with Pastor David Cripe officiating. Special music tributes of "Living On Love", "Go Rest High On The Mountain", "Little Drummer Boy" and "When I get Where I'm Going"will be part of the service. Interment will be made at the Greenwood Cemetery in Park Rapids. Casket bearers will be: her grandchildren, Jesse Kapela, Justin Schmitz, Jamie Darchuk, Jacy Norgaard and James Norgaard III and a nephew, Randy Wilson.. The honorary casket bearers will be Jody Keller, Scott Maunu, Dru Kapela, Ron Wilson, Rhonda Wilson, Brandi Wolham, Bobby Wilson, Penny Kapela, Sheree Kapela and the Richard Hall family. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM, Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the Faithbridge Church.
