JACALYN A. "JACKIE" NELSON 1959 -2015 Jacalyn "Jackie" Nelson, age 55 of Menahga, MN, formerly of Rockford, MN tragically passed from this life on Saturday May 30, 2015 at the Green Pines Acres Nursing Home in Menahga while rehabilitating from injuries she sustained in a motorcycle accident. Jackie was born in 1959 at the Carswell Air Force Base near Fort Worth, TX, to James and Evelyn (Podominick) Anderson. At the age of two she moved with her parents to Minnesota where she attended public schools and graduated from Wayzata High School with the class of 1977. She then went on to attend St. Cloud State University where she earned her degree. Jackie gained employment working with Curt Carlson Companies in Minneapolis and later Peloquin Law Office in a career as a paralegal that spanned over thirty years. On November 11, 2011 she was united in marriage to Brian L. Nelson in Park Rapids, MN. The two made their home on Duck Lake northeast of Menahga. She loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and motorcycling with her husband. She was a gifted athlete and played in a woman's softball league for many years. She will be remembered by her love for her husband and family, her friends and her faithful dogs Zygee and Beau. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband and soulmate, Brian "Bubba" of Menahga; one step-daughter, Shelbie Nelson of Wadena, MN; her mother, Evelyn Anderson of Loretto, MN; one sister, Jean (Nathan) Breitung of Long Lake, MN; one brother, James (Jodie) Anderson, Jr., of Lyon, France; a special niece and nephew, Andrea Breitung of Richfield, MN and Josh Breitung of Robbinsdale, MN; as well as many other relatives and friends. Jackie was preceded in death by her father, James E. Anderson who died in 2012 and her first husband, Curt Hendricks. A celebration of Jackie's life will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday June 6, 2015 at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga, MN with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am officiated by Father Arlie Sowada of the Assumption of Our Lady Catholic Church. The urn-bearers will be Andrea Breitung and Josh Breitung. The honorary urn-bearers will be members of the Mid State Crane Women's softball team.
