MARILYN HELENE WILSON July 30, 1926 - November 5, 2015 Marilyn Wilson, age 89, passed away on November 5, 2015 at the Ebenezer Ridges Care Center in Burnsville, MN, after a long battle with Parkinson's. Marilyn Helene Wilson was born July 30, 1926 to Harry and Inga Eklund in Chokio, Minnesota. She graduated from Morris High School in 1944. Marilyn moved to Park Rapids in 1953. She worked for a while at Lundberg's Restaurant and the Park Rapids Enterprise, before starting at the Minnesota Power and Light Company in 1959. She married Robert William Wilson on March 31, 1963. After 25 years, Marilyn retired from Minnesota Power as Office Supervisor. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Park Rapids. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary. In 1992, after the death of Robert, she moved to Fargo, ND and joined Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. In 2002 she moved to Lakeville, Minnesota. Since March of 2005, she lived at Ebenezer Ridges Care Center in Burnsville, Minnesota. She is survived by one son, Floyd (Shirley) Wilson of Bismarck, ND and two daughters Cathie Byrnes of Stacy, MN and Cynthia Wilson of Detroit Lakes, MN six grandchildren: Jacqueline (Doug) Julien, Josh (Jada) Greenwood, Shawn Klatt, Shanna (Erik) Langston, Robert Wilson, and Morgaine Wilson. Marilyn is also survived by 7 great grandchildren: Sawyer Julien, Logan Julien, Braeden Greenwood, Elizabeth Greenwood, Brody Greenwood, Ethan Langston and Eli Langston, one sister: Jeannine (Earl) Hemmerich and numerous nieces and nephews. Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents, Harry and Inga Eklund, one great-grandchild, Hope Julien, seven sisters, Nettie Boettcher, Elma Lesmeister, Lillian Lesmeister, Lauretta Kill, Irene Hoffman, Audrey Haugland, Bernadine Farl, three son-in-laws, Monte Greenwood, Michael Byrnes and Wayne Klatt, numerous brother-in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 9th, 2015 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN with Reverend Greg Lucas officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Casketbearers will be Jacqueline Julien, Shanna Langston, Morgaine Wilson and Robert Wilson. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
