Arthur Paul Huewe, age 68 of Park Rapids, MN passed into eternal life on Wednesday evening, December 30, 2015, surrounded by his loved ones at the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids. Art was born on January 17, 1947 in Melrose, MN to Ed and Olivia (Korte) Huewe. As a small boy, he moved with his family to Black Duck, MN where his family purchased a farm. He attended the Blackduck Public School system and grew to manhood helping on the family farm. In 1969, he moved to Park Rapids where he attended Vocational-Technical School and became a certified automotive mechanic. He gained employment working as a mechanic in Hibbing, MN and later moved to Virginia, MN where he worked with his brother, Chuck as a mechanic for Taconite Motors. In 1985, Art returned to Park Rapids where he worked as a fork lift operator for Lamb-Weston RDO in a career that spanned over 23 years until his retirement in May of 2011. For many years, Art enjoyed spending his summers working on the Wayne Schroeder farm near Park Rapids helping with planting and harvesting the crops. He enjoyed working on tractors and helping his family with all kinds of projects. He will be long remembered for his good sense of humor, his strict adherence to being early for every appointment, his good work ethic and his impeccable level of integrity and dependability. He took great pride in keeping his house, shop and yard extremely neat and clean. He was a long time faithful member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids. Art will by fondly remembered for always telling his loved ones good bye by saying “toodle doo”. Art will be lovingly remembered by his eight siblings: Irene (Les) Bridger of Osage, MN, Carolyn Gulbrandson of Embarrass, MN, Chuck (Virginia) Huewe of Park Rapids, MN, Stanley (Ann) Huewe of Virginia, MN, Marilyn Kokal of Iron, MN, Rita Huewe of Virginia, MN, Rodney (Kim) Huewe of Virginia and Delores Smith of Eveleth, MN as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Vernon and James; a brother-in-law, Chester and a nephew, Phillip. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Monday, January 11, 2015 at the St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids with Father Thomas Friedl officiating. The Alleluia Choir will lead the mass music. Interment will be made in the St. Peters Catholic Cemetery. The Church will host a luncheon for all following the service. Visitation will be held 5 to 8 PM Sunday, January 10 at Jones-Pearson Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 PM and continuing on Monday at the church one hour prior to the service.
