Jeanne Lee “Grams” Ward, age 79, of Park Rapids, Minnesota, formerly of Reno, Nevada, entered eternity on Monday, February 8, 2016 at Essentia Health Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota with her daughter, Toni and granddaughter and great-granddaughter at her side. Jeanne was born July 18, 1936 in Ogden, Utah to Walter and Mary (Fox) Owen. Following her father’s death when she was just eighteen months old, she moved with her mother to Toy, Nevada. Later Jeanne moved with her family to Reno, Nevada where she attended public school and grew into womanhood. She graduated from the Reno High School in 1953. As a young woman, she began working as a bank teller for the Nevada Bank of Commerce. Later, she gained employment working at the casinos. Jeanne was united in marriage to Jim Ward in 1960. In the early 1980s Jeanne began working for the Pinkerton Security Agency where she did investigative work. Her career as a detective continued with Burns Security and IPS until her retirement in 2009. Jeanne moved to Park Rapids in 2010 where she lived with her daughter, Toni Lucas. Even during her retirement, Jeanne kept following detective work and always enjoyed a good investigative report. She devoted her life to her daughter and grandchildren who she loved with all her heart. Jeanne will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Toni LeAnne Lucas of Park Rapids, MN; three grandchildren: Cameron Anthony Buchholz of Portland, Oregon, Laramie Daniel Lucas of Carson City, Nevada and Arielle Shasta Antonina Lucas of Fargo, North Dakota and three great-grandchildren: Bailee, Bella and Maddie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Ward and was recently preceded by granddaughter, Danielle Buchholz Crosby on November 17, 2014. Memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM.
