Edward “Bobby Jack” Larson, age 79, a lifelong Ponsford area resident passed into eternal life on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the CHI/St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids.  Bobby Jack was born March 19, 1937 in White Earth, Becker County, MN to Edward and Lucille (Burnette) Larson.  He attended the Pine Point School in Ponsford through the eighth grade.  As a young man Bobby Jack worked in the woods throughout the Ponsford area logging and operated his own sawmill.  In 1954 he was united in marriage to Angeline “Connie” Boswell.  This union was blessed with four children: Conrad, Robert, Billi Jo and David.  Bobby Jack was also blessed with the birth of another daughter, Jackie Sue.  He worked for the Job Corps training new workers for several years.  In 1969, Bobby Jack moved with his family to Minneapolis where he worked for the J.I. Case Tractor Company.  In the early 1970’s he returned to the Ponsford area where he owned and operated Bobby Jack’s Trading Post for many years.  Bobby Jack had good business skills and harvested, processed and distributed wild rice worldwide for many years.  He was very gifted at building and repairing almost anything and in fact had built his own wild rice processing plant and the Trading Post.  Bobby Jack was an avid snowmobile racer and was also a dealer for Bolens Snowmobiles.  For many years he and his son, Robert raced snowmobiles throughout the region, which Bobby Jack had modified for speed and performance.  Later in his life, Bobby Jack moved to the Twin Cities where he worked at a smelting plant and then worked construction with his brother.  In the 1980’s he returned to the Ponsford area where he resided right up to the time of his death. Bobby Jack will be lovingly remembered by his son, Robert “Teenzer” (Danette) Larson of Ponsford, Billi Jo Larson of Fargo, ND, David (Mai) Larson of Eden Prairie, MN, Jackie Sue of Forest Lake, MN; Don (Kay) Larson of Park Rapids, MN; Alvin (Janet) Gjustrom of Mahnomen, Lawrence “Sam” Crowell of Ponsford and Bill (Donna) Crowell of Ponsford; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Memorial service will be held 5:30 PM Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be made at the Linnell Cemetery in Ponsford.
