Charles Leroy Wallin, Jr., age 69, of Menahga, died May 18, 2016 at his home from a heart attack. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend. His memory will live on in the stories he told so often with great humor and wit. Chip was the oldest of eleven children and did not stray too far from his family home in southwest Minneapolis. He was a carpenter for decades before changing careers to his second passion of cooking. Chip was a chef in Bloomington feeding children their daily dose of love and laughter. He and his wife, Barbara, retired “Up North” from their long time home of Minneapolis. Chuck could be seen around town visiting and making people smile. If he wasn’t working in his woodshop you’d find him out on the pontoon. We take comfort in knowing he and Barb have been reunited. Charles is survived by daughters: Leah and Lynne (Matthew) Amerson; grandchildren: Beatrice and Charles; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga, MN Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 5pm with a Prayer Service at 6:30pm. Funeral Services will be held at Our Lady of Assumption, Menahga, MN, on Wednesday, May 25 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Charles’ memory to the Nevis Lions Club of MN PO Box 74 Nevis, MN 56467.
