ALFRED JAMES “AL” NEUMANN April 3, 1928 - June 15, 2016 Alfred (Al) James Robert Neumann passed away Wednesday June 15, 2016 at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids, MN. Al was born in Clover Township April 3rd, 1928 to Frank C. Neumann and Theresia M. (Sollinger) Neumann. Al married Patricia A. Dahlberg February 5, 1954 in Park Rapids. He served in the U.S. Army at Ft. Richardson in the Territory of Alaska, and later at Ft. Lewis in the state of Washington. After being Honorably Discharged, Pat and Al settled in the Everett, Washington area where Al owned a Harley Davidson dealership. They moved back to Park Rapids in 1968 where he was a member of the American Legion. Al worked in the woods as a logger and also drove semi-trucks. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and camping with friends and family. He enjoyed drawing and enlightened many lives with his piano playing. Al is survived by his wife Patricia of sixty-two years, three daughters Dawn (Steve) Gravdahl of St. Francis, MN, Debra (Bob) Pugh of Osage, MN and Diana (Wayne) Etter of Menahga, MN. Seven grandchildren: Joshua and Jessica Gravdahl, Amelia and Anna Pugh, Robert (Teresa) Etter, Daniel (Sadie) Etter, and Jennifer (Ben) Etter. Ten great grandchildren: Grace, Nevaeh, Gavin, Kamryn, Darryl, Louisa, Everett, Beatrice, Abigail and Marvin. Al is also survived by his half-sister Anita (Doug) Walsh Dearhammer; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Al was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Theresia Neumann, his step-father Ed Walsh, sister Ruth (Howard) Elliot, and his Walsh step brothers and sisters: Mabel, Harris, Carrie, Chester, and Delores. Memorial Services are scheduled for 3:00 PM, Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN. Pastor Loren Ferch will be officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Star Of The North Marine Corps League. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Park Rapids, MN. Urn bearers will be Al’s grandchildren: Robert Etter, Daniel Etter, Jennifer Etter, Joshua Gravdahl, Jessica Gravdahl, Amelia Pugh and Anna Pugh.
