Dale Alan Fischer

DALE A. FISCHER August 19, 1955 – June 20, 2016      Dale A. Fischer, age 60, of Menahga, MN passed away June 20, 2016 in Hillsboro, North Dakota.  He was born August 19, 1955 in Wichita, Kansas to Jack W. and Betty L. (Collins) Fischer.  He was one of eight siblings.  Dale served proudly and honorably in the United States Air Force stationed in Italy from 1976 – 1979.  It was there that he met Patricia E. Kekacs, who he married on December 21, 1977.  They were blessed with two daughters, Jennifer and Lesley shortly after.  Dale’s passion for drinking Pepsi, smoking Marlboro’s and fishing whenever he possibly could were well known to anyone who knew him well.  His skills with computers and computer gaming were also literally world renowned.  He loved watching NFL games always debating the games plays with his daughters and anyone else nearby.  While the family was in South Korea from 1986 – 1998, Dale enjoyed participating in all areas of softball and helped make the game enjoyable for everyone there.  In 1998 he moved his family back to the United States to the city of Bemidji, Minnesota.  It was there that he met his second wife Melanie (Anderson) Fischer and her two sons, Glenn Anderson and Andrew Rogers.  They were married on June 16, 2001 and spent many years fixing computers together and fishing when time would allow.  They also enjoyed dining out and trying all the new places along with being loyal customers to those places he loved to eat at.  Dale was a man who cared about everyone, his smile was infectious and his sick sense of humor was legendary.  He loved playing card games, telling jokes and laughing with friends and family.  If he was not talking or telling jokes, he was usually singing his heart out.  Dale was and will always be a great man who will be greatly missed by many.    Dale is survived by his wife of fifteen years, Melanie Fischer, his two daughters Jennifer (Cory) Miller of Park Rapids and Lesley (Ron) Yliniemi of Menahga two sons Andrew Rogers and Glenn Anderson (Leah), of Manassas, VA. and twelve grandchildren.  Also surviving are six siblings, Larry Fischer of Milton, FL, Jack (Bonnie) Fischer of Trenton, MI, Johnny Fischer and Nancy (Jeff) Folkenroth both of Seven Valleys, PA Judy (Steven) Birriel of Dover, PA and Linda Beverly of Copley, OH along with many nieces, nephews and friends.  Preceding him in death were his parents, Jack and Betty Fischer, his sister and brother in law Sue & Tim McGurran, his sister in law Sarah Fischer, and his brother in law Jon Beverly.     Funeral services will be held 10 AM Wednesday June 29, 2016 at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga, MN with burial in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.  Casket bearers will be: Jeff Folkenroth, Steve McGurran, Ronald Yliniemi, Cory Miller, Glenn Anderson and Andrew Rogers.  Visitation will be held from 6-9 PM Tuesday at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga.  To view the video tribute or leave online condolences, please visit cardinipearson.com.
