HAROLD GLEN CLELAND August 9, 1946 – October 14, 2016         Harold Glen Cleland, age 70, of Watkins, MN, formerly of Park Rapids, MN, peacefully entered the fully glorious splendor of Heaven on early Friday morning, October 14, 2016, surrounded by his loved ones at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins, MN.       Harold was born on August 9, 1946 in Rochester, Indiana to George and Mary (Poorman) Cleland.  It was in the Fulton, Indiana area that he attended public schools and grew into manhood.  Following high school, Harold gained employment working with his father for the Baker Burial Vault Company in Fulton for a number of years.  In 1964, Harold was united in marriage to Patricia Correll.  They were blessed with three daughters: Kimmie, Michelle and Tulcey.  On October 4, 1974, Harold was married to Kimberly Van Meter in Rochester, Indiana and their marriage was blessed with four more daughters: Jennifer, Rebecca, Leoma and Gwen.  In 1980, Harold ventured to northern MN with his family where they settled in Park Rapids, MN.  For many years, Harold owned and operated a tire and battery removal business.  He also transported cars for Thielen Motors in Park Rapids and had worked as custodian for the Otto Hendrickson American Legion Post in Park Rapids until 2002 when he moved to St. Joseph, MN.  Harold resided in St. Joseph where he could be closer to his daughter Leoma and her children until suffering a life changing stroke in 2010.  He became a resident of the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins, MN in December of 2010 where he has lived right up to the present time.  Harold enjoyed watching sports of all kinds and also enjoyed making road trips near and far.  He read his bible daily and had had been a long time faithful member of the Park Rapids Assembly of God Church where he loved worshipping his Lord and Savior and fellowshipping with his church family.  Above all, Harold loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren who he loved with all his heart.       He will be lovingly remembered by his six daughters: Kim Cleland of Kokomo, IN, Tulcey Dennis of Peru, IN, Jennifer (Marty) Winn of Detroit Lakes, MN, Rebecca Asplund of Akeley, MN, Leoma (Brian) Ludwig of Eden Valley, MN and Gwen (Keenan) Ervin of Clay City, KY; 21 grandchildren and 24 precious great grandchildren; his sister, Janice (David) Judkins of Smithville, TN and his brother, Michael Cleland of McMinnville, TN; a special aunt and uncle, Helen and Phil Kaley of Park Rapids; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.       Harold was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Michelle who died in 1989; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.       Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Assembly of God Church in Park Rapids with the Reverend Tim Wilson and Reverend Art Wood officiating.  The organist will be Valdonna Jensen.  Active casket bearers will be: Ray Cleland, Bev Sherman, Ron Sherman, Marcia Neumayer, Pat Healy, and Brandon Sherman.  The honorary casketbearers will be Harold’s grandchildren who he loved so dearly.  Interment will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery of Park Rapids.  Visitation will begin at the church at 9:30 AM on Wednesday at the church.  Following the service the church family will host a luncheon for all to attend.  To view the video tribute or leave on line condolences please visit www.jonespearson.com.
