Barbara Harvey

BARBARA RUTH HARVEY Barbara Ruth Harvey passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on March 26, 2017.  She was born in Tracy,  MN on August 6, 1940 to Richard and Camilla Stillings.  After moving to many other towns in Minnesota, North and South Dakota, her family moved to Lake George when she was in her teens.  It was there at her parent’s resort that she first met her husband Gerald and they were united in marriage on May 7, 1960 in the Guthrie Catholic Church.  They were blessed with seven children; Leslie Harvey, Lynn (Don) Smith, Jeraldine Harvey, Jennifer Harvey, Jeff Harvey, Joan (John) Miller, and Jon Harvey.  After raising her children Barb rejoined the work force as a Patient Account/Billing Representative at St. Joseph’s Area Health Services in Park Rapids until her retirement in 2006.  She will be most remembered for her awesome home-made pies and her beautiful flower gardens. Barb is survived by her husband, her seven children, two sons-in-law, five Grandchildren; Matthew Harvey, Nicole Smith, Justin, Jared, and Lindsay Miller; and one Great-Granddaughter Alexis Curtis, in addition to her brother Donny (Carol) Stillings, her two sisters Mary White and Cathy Transgrud, and her Sisters-in-law Shirley (Lyle) Zubke and Joyce Harvey. She is preceded in death by her Parents, her Father-in-law Jerome Harvey, her Mother-in law Esther Harvey, one Grandson Benjamin Smith and three Brothers-in-law, Robert Harvey, Ronald White and Dennis Transgsrud. The memorial mass will be held at St. Theodore of Tarsus in Laporte,  MN on Wednesday, April 12th at 3:00 pm with a luncheon to follow.  Barb will be interred at the Lake George Cemetery in a private ceremony at a later date.
