Carl Tschudi

CARL DAVID TSCHUDI May 25, 1945 – April 27, 2017                   Carl David Tschudi, age 71, a lifelong Sebeka and Menahga, MN area resident, peacefully passed into eternity on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga with his precious wife at his side.                 Carl was born on May 25, 1945 on the family farm near Sebeka, MN to Bill and Julia (Salo) Tschudi.  It was in Sebeka that he attended public school and grew into manhood.  At the age of 18, Carl began working construction and continued in this career for over 50 years building many homes, barns, garages and remodelings which stand as a testament to his skill and hard work.  He was united in marriage to Janice Fritten and they were blessed with three boys: Steven, Kevin and Dean.  On November 24, 1982 Carl was united in marriage to Bonnie J. Jacob at the Menahga Methodist Church.  Carl loved the outdoors; especially when he could be off hunting or trapping.  For many years, Carl maintained a trapline and trapped mink, beaver, muskrat, fox, otter and weasel.  He enjoyed fishing the area lakes and loved the feast after a nice catch.  He also enjoyed reading Louie L’Amour westerns and watching a good western on television.  Above all he enjoyed the fulfillment of his 35 year marriage to Bonnie.                 Carl will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Bonnie of Menahga; his two sons: Kevin Tschudi of Park Rapids and Dean (Laura) Tschudi of Fargo; three step-sons: Marty Jacob of Rogers, MN, Danny (Amy) Jacob of Hugo, MN and Troy (Crystal) Jacob of Menahga; his nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Irene (George) Kern of Wadena; as well as many nieces, nephews,s other relatives and many friends.                 He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roger and a sister, Shirley.                 Services will be held 1 PM Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga with the Rev. Steve Koehne officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
