JOSEPH JOHN CHARMOLI April 17, 1942 – May 25, 2017                   Joseph John Charmoli, age 75, a long time Menahga, MN area resident, peacefully entered the glorious splendor of Heaven on May 25, 2017 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Park Rapids surrounded by his precious wife and children who had lovingly cared for him during his illness and his loyal dog, Cocoa.                 Joe was born on April 17, 1942 in Virginia, MN to George and Jenny (Lind) Charmoli.  It was in the community of Mountain Iron, MN that Joe attended public school.  He was a standout athlete who excelled at football and basketball.  He graduated with the Mountain Iron High School Class of 1961.  Joe chose to venture to the Twin Cities and begin building a career for himself. He first gained employment working for the Thermo-King Co. in Minneapolis. On September 29, 1962, Joe’s life was forever fulfilled in his marriage to Delores Emmajean Olson at the lst English Lutheran Church in Menahga. This union was blessed with two sons and four daughters: Michael, Brian, Joetta who died in infancy, Rhonda, Theresa and Brenda.  Joe loved being a dad and was very proud of all his children.  He especially was fond of their calling him Daddy-O as a loving term of endearment.  In 1965, Joe began working as a drywall contractor in a career that spanned over 40 years, mostly operating his own company called Joe’s Drywall.  Over his life time in the drywall industry, Joe especially enjoyed training young men the art of exceptional drywall work.  The young family made their home in Minneapolis until 1977 when they moved Menahga where Delores had grown up.  They were part of the community in Menahga until 1985 when they returned to the Twin Cities to manage an apartment building in Eden Prairie.  In 1987, they returned to Menahga where they have made their home right up to the present time.  Joe loved the Northern MN outdoors.  He especially enjoyed taking his family on weekend camping trips.  He also enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting and fishing.  Joe enjoyed being involved in his community and was a long time member of the First English Lutheran Church in Menahga.  He loved music and enjoyed singing with the Park Rapids Barber Shoppers, the church choir and square dancing with his precious Delores with the Friendly Squares Square Dancing Club.  Joe had a deep fascination with cars and took pride in keeping his cars polished and shining.  He had refurbished several classic cars with his favorite one being a black and white 1956 Oldsmobile with which he won many competitions with.  Joe will be long remembered for his quick wit and his ability to tell a good story.  Above all, he devoted his life to the happiness of his wife and soulmate, Delores; his children; his grandchildren and his great granddaughter who he always put first in life and loved with all his heart.                 He will be lovingly remembered by the wife who has blessed him for the past 55 years, Delores of Menahga; his children: Michael (Debbie) Sederlund of Bartlett, TN,  Brian Charmoli of Nevis, MN, Rhonda Charmoli of Andover, MN, Theresa (Paul) Nielsen of Cedar, MN, and Brenda (Michael) Jentsch of Baxter, MN; 17 grandchildren: Shawn, Mykle, Jessi, Casey, Travis, Kyle, Matthew, Zachery, Maija, Molly, Morgan, Tony, Emma, Michael, Joseph, Anna and Thomas;  a great granddaughter, Jey; Seven siblings: Georgene Rice of Blaine, MN, Darlene (Larry) Fugelstad of Moose Lake, MN, Sharon (Kenny) Cromwell of Cambridge, MN, Jeanette (Carl) Kiser of Santa Maria, CA, Jerry (Sandy) Charmoli of Coon Rapids, MN, Seretta (Joel) Colluar of East Hampton, New Jersey, Ricky Charmoli of Ontonagon, MI; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.                  He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Joetta in infancy.                 Services will be held 11 AM  Friday, June 2 at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga with the Rev.
