John Edward Werner

   John Edward Werner August 31, 1941 - September 24, 2017    John Edward Werner, age 76, of Bigfork, MN peacefully entered eternity on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the Bigfork Valley Nursing Home in Bigfork, MN.    John was born on August 31, 1941 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Irene Winifred and Roy Joseph Werner. His only sister passed away at a very young age. John loved school and wanted to learn as much as he could before he left school. John held three different positions in Cedar Rapids including some time working in the kitchen at Mercy Hospital. John eventually moved with his family to Park Rapids, MN where he was employed at a department store. John was active with the Boy Scouts, both in Cedar Rapids and Park Rapids. He had 18 awards, only three short of his Eagle Scout Badge, when he left scouting. John moved to Northome, MN in 1976, where he worked at the DAC. While in Northome he met the love of his life, Debbie and they were united in marriage on February 20, 1982. John was quite a sports fan, especially enjoying golf, which he played since he was 14. In his spare time he enjoyed watching comedies on TV. He also enjoyed going out to eat and visiting with his friends.    John will be lovingly remembered by his many friends in the Northome and Bigfork areas.    He was preceded in death by his precious wife, Debbie; his parents and one sister.
