Randy Lee Riemann

January 21, 1953 — September 26, 2017

Randy Lee Riemann January 21, 1953 – September 26, 2017    Randy Lee Riemann, age 64, of Menahga, MN, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2017 at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo surrounded by his loved ones.      Randy was born on January 21, 1953 in Wadena, MN to Ardell and Lillie (Downer) Riemann. He attended public school in Sebeka. As a very young boy, his mother taught him how to trap pocket gophers, and at the age of 10, Randy trapped over 600 gophers and earned enough money to buy his first bicycle. He graduated from the Sebeka High School with the Class of 1971 . As a young man, Randy ventured to Milwaukee, WI where he worked for the Milwaukee Rail Car Company, Glenn Rieder and the Langely Brothers Wood Company. He was united in marriage to Jean I. Berndt on August 22, 1975. They were married for 22 years and were blessed with two children: Jeffrey and Julie. For many years he operated his own wood working company called “The Wood Doctor”. Randy loved working with wood; building furniture, gun cabinets, a variety of exotic bowls and serving trays as well as many other custom made products. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting deer and other game with rifle, muzzle loader or bow. Randy did his own reloading to get the best performance from his firearms and handguns. He also enjoyed fishing and knew the area lakes well. He loved restoring the classic muscle cars of his era. He especially loved driving his 1967 Chevelle; and he proudly owned many other muscle cars during his lifetime. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends; especially when he was recounting his hunting adventures. Above all, Randy devoted himself to his children who he loved dearly. He always had a special place in his heart for his daughter, Julie.    He is lovingly remembered by his children: Mark (Tiffany) Winslow of Phoenix, AZ, Jeffrey Scott Riemann and Julie Ann Riemann both of Milwaukee, WI; three granddaughters: Natalie, Kaila and Emma; his mother, Lillie Riemann of Menahga; one sister, Rhonda (Jon) Webster of Rochester and Ricky Riemann of Menahga; one nephew, Aaron Fairbanks of Phoenix; as well as other relatives and friends.    Randy was preceded in death by his father, Ardell in 1955.
