Bruce Robert Barth December 9th 1948 – April 10th, 2018    Bruce Robert Barth, age 69, was welcomed into heaven on April 10th, 2018 with his family at his side. He was born December 9th, 1948 in Breckenridge, MN, son of Robert D. Barth and Mary C. (Schauff) Barth.    Bruce graduated from Campbell High School in 1966 and attended Alexandria Technical College graduating with a two year degree in Tool and Die in 1968. On September 12th, 1968 he joined the US Navy and served as Petty Officer 2nd Class Boiler man aboard the USS Coronado out of Norfolk, Virginia. He was honorably discharged on June 1st, 1971 and received the National Defense Service Medal serving during the Vietnam War. After his return from the Navy he worked as a machinist at World Aerospace for a time. He met his wife Barbara Johnson in Osseo because of mutual friends and they were married at their home in Dayton, MN in 1975. Bruce worked for Kurt Manufacturing in Minneapolis for 27 years and during this time he had a daughter, Angela born June 3rd, 1976 and a son Todd born May 27th, 1978. He loved his family, his friends and neighbors, and his work. In his younger years he played softball and bowled on many leagues. He loved his annual trips to the deer hunting shack, “misery manor” with his brother in laws and father in law, Gail Johnson. He cherished the annual 4th of July celebrations at his sister’s lake place with his siblings and all his nieces and nephews. He also loved fishing, camping, and his garage-whether in Dayton or in Park Rapids. In 2000 he left his job at Kurt Manufacturing to work at Team Industries as a machinist in Park Rapids fulfilling his dream to be away from the cities and closer to his wife’s parents and his Mom. He was a “regular” at all family and extended family event’s, and was branded as the “family historian.” He was an avid reader and loved to read anything that had to do with history.    Bruce was a loving husband of 42 years to his wife Barbara. In his last days he wouldn’t let her leave his side and he stayed strong for her to the end. He was a devoted and loving father to his kids, Angela (Sean) Baldwin –Anoka, MN, and Todd Barth (Erin Lembke)-Wyoming, MN and he loved being a Grandpa to Lane, Kennedy, Elizabeth, Clara, Josephine, Johnathan, and Brinley. It was a busy house when all the kids came to visit and he loved every second!    Bruce was preceded in death by his parents Mary & Robert Barth, Brother Harvey Barth, and Brother Joseph Barth.
