CHARLOTTE LAVONNE ROBBINS September 10th, 1947 – April 18th, 2018 Charlotte Lavonne Robbins, age 70, of Sebeka, MN, peacefully passed into eternity on Wednesday, April 18th, 2018 at the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga with her loved ones at her side. Charlotte was born on September 10th, 1947 in Wadena, MN to Chris and Anna (Montgomery) Christiansen. It was in the Chisholm/Hibbing area that she grew into womanhood, graduating from the Hibbing High School with the class of 1965. As a young woman, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Roger Robbins on May 17th, 1966. They were blessed with five children: Charissia, Bryan, Bruce, Anna and Carrie. They made their home in a variety of cities within MN until moving to Washington State where they resided for four years until returning to MN in 1974. Their marriage ended in the early 1980’s. Charlotte then attended the Mesabi Community College in Virginia, MN and went on to attend Bemidji State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in social work. As a social worker she gained employment at the State Hospital in Moose Lake. Later, she moved to St. Paul where she worked as a behavioral specialist in adult foster care. It was there that she met her longtime companion, James P. Nelson. Charlotte loved planting her toes in the beach sand whenever time would allow. She also created stained-glass artwork. Above all, she loved spending time with her children, her grandchildren and her four great grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her five children: Charissia (Roy) Andreoff of Menahga, Bryan Robbins of Sebeka, Bruce (Carrie Sue) Robbins of Menahga, Anna (Mike) Janssen of Staples, Carrie Rae Robbins of Sebeka; 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; four siblings: Roger (Virginia) Christiansen of Hibbing, Arlene Nelson of Mead, WA., Barbara Christiansen (Ron Hageman) of Staples, and Donna (Mark) Miller of Menahga; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday April 28th, 2018 at the Sebeka Senior Center in Sebeka, MN.
