MARJORIE C. KUMMA May 9, 1931 – July 1, 2018    Marjorie C. Kumma, age 87, a long time Menahga, MN area resident, and a former long-time resident of Seattle, Washington passed into the eternal splendor of Heaven on Sunday morning, July 1, 2018 at the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga, MN with her son, Gary at her side.    Marjorie was born on May 9, 1931 in Menahga, MN to Charles and Clara (Olson) Stimpson. She attended the Menahga Public School, graduating from high school with the Class of 1949. She then ventured to Seattle, WA where on September 3, 1949 she was united in marriage to John Raymond Kumma. Their marriage was blessed with three children: John, Arlyce and Gary. She was a wonderful cook and baker who will be long remembered for her delicious homemade beef roast with potatoes and her famous gravy, as well as her cakes and cookies. Marjorie would often work with her hands sewing clothes for her children, or quilting or crocheting blankets and other gifts for her family and friends. Her love for music was best demonstrated by teaching herself to play the piano and several other instruments totally by ear. She was a woman who loved the Lord with all her heart, soul and mind. She loved to read God’s word each day and was a devoted prayer warrior. Marjorie was a faithful member of the Spruce Grove Apostolic Lutheran Church near Wolf Lake where she enjoyed the fellowship of the church family. Above all, Marjorie devoted her life to her husband, Ray, who preceded her in death in 2014, her children and grandchildren who she loved with all her heart.    She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons: John (Larisa) Kumma and Gary Kumma all of Seattle, WA; her daughter, Arlyce (Phil) Frost of Seattle, WA; a grandson, John Frost and a granddaughter, Carla (David) Williams; 16 dearly loved greatgrandchildren and her great great grandchildren; five siblings: Arlyce Van Cleve of Maple Grove, MN, Vernice Theis of Hamel, MN, Sharon Quick of Brooklyn Center, MN, Donald Stimpson of Hamel, MN and Kathy Blommer of St. Cloud, MN; a well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.    Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; her parents and six siblings: Clarence, Arlene, George, Lloyd, Margaret and Lorraine.    Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Spruce Grove Apostolic Lutheran Church near Wolf Lake, MN with the Rev. Dennis Hannu officiating. The organist will be Debra Aho and the vocalists will be: Tyrone Aho, Patricia Aho and Layla Borth who will sing: “He Touched Me”, “Just A Closer Walk With Thee”, and “What A Day That Will Be”. The casket bearers will be: Ryan Aho, Harry Aho, Harvey Aho, Rodney Aho, Nathaniel Aho and Kenneth Blommer. Interment will be made at the Hillview Cemetery west of Menahga, MN next to her husband, Ray. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday, July 4th and again at the church on Thursday morning beginning one hour prior to the service.
