Dolores Marie (nee: Linn) Bahe, age 92, of Menahga MN formerly of Coon Rapids MN died Saturday July 7, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.
Dolores was born March 26, 1926 in rural Watkins MN to Peter and Teresa (Loch) Linn. She attended rural school in Watkins and graduated from Eden Valley high school.
As a young woman during WWII, Dolores worked as a ‘Rosie the Riveter’ in St. Cloud, riveting parts for the fuselage of B-17’s.
She was united in marriage to Norman on November 29, 1947. This union was blessed with five children. She was employed at School District 11 as a cook for almost 20 years, enjoying most of those years at the neighborhood school, Morris Bye elementary in Coon Rapids.
In 1987 they retired to their home east of Menahga. She enjoyed living in the country, caring for her home, watching the wildlife, especially the birds and deer, and socializing with many friends, old and new. She was an active member of St. Peter’s church in Park Rapids. She volunteered at St Joseph’s hospital, working in the gift shop. Dolores had a passion for quilting. The beds, walls and tables in her home and homes of family and friends are adorned with her handiwork.
Meals and cooking were very special to Dolores and will be cherished by many. She always prepared her grandchildren’s favorite meals and had her special Strawberry Jam on hand for them! She also enjoyed road trips with her family across the country. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, willingness to joke, and her warmth, love and dedication she gave to her family. Above everything else Dolores loved and enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Norman; daughter, Lou Ann Sandoz in 1986 and sister Bernice Zieglmeier. Dolores is survived by two daughters; Connette Bahe of Monticello and Janet Bahe of Menahga; two sons, Ronald (Kristi)Bahe of Coon Rapids and Gerry (Ruth) of Annandale; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Gerald (Dolores) Linn of Paynesville and James (Shirley) Linn of Eden Valley; brother-in-law, Aaron Bahe of Anoka; and many special nieces and nephews she always enjoyed visiting with.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 11 at the St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids MN with Thomas Friedl officiating. Visitation will be 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be 1:00 PM Thursday, July 12 in the Epiphany Catholic Cemetery of Coon Rapids MN.
