FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Riverside United Methodist Church in Park Rapids, MN.
VISITATION: One hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
INTERMENT: Greenwood Cemetery, Park Rapids, MN
SURVIVORS: Her children: Nancy (Kerry Hermanis) of Perth, Australia, Steven (Glenda) of Park Rapids; three grandchildren: Kyle (Kristin Struve), Blake (Krista) and Rosalyn (Luke) Hendrickson and five great-grandchildren.

Alfrieda (Freda) Ruth Johnson, age 89 of Park Rapids died Friday, July 13, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Area Health Services of Park Rapids.
Alfrieda was born on December 3, 1922 to Edward and Ruth Knorr in Madison, MN, where she lived until graduating high school. She later graduated from Moorhead State College and went on to teach 4th grade in Park Rapids where she met Clyde Johnson. They were united in marriage on March 20, 1946 and have resided in Park Rapids ever since.
Alfrieda is survived by her children: Nancy (Kerry Hermanis) of Perth, Australia, Steven (Glenda) of Park Rapids; three grandchildren: Kyle (Kristin Struve), Blake (Krista) and Rosalyn (Luke) Hendrickson; five great-grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews.
Alfrieda was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde; brother, Merlin; sister, Mable; grandson, Christopher and her parents.
Memorial Service will be held 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at the Riverside United Methodist Church in Park Rapids. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Honorary Urnbearers are: Kyle Johnson, Blake Johnson and Rosalyn Hendrickson. Luncheon will follow immediately after the service.
Nancy & Steve & families. My condolence on the loss of your mother. She always put a brightness in my day whenever I saw her or spoke with her on the phone. Both of your parents were so special & important parts of our community. They are part of a passing generation that set good standards for the rest of us to follow.

What a wonderful mother and woman Alfrieda was! I have such wonderful memories of her and your dad from our "growing up" years. I am so glad that Kathy and I stopped to see her last year when we were in PR. She still had her warm and cheerful heart. She will be greatly missed. My prayers are with you both and your families.
