ZELLA M. MINOR
October 2, 1916 ~ December 18, 2011

Zella M. Minor, age 95 of Osage, MN, entered eternal life with her Lord on December 18, 2011 while sleeping at her current residence at the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.
Zella was born on October 2, 1916 in Winneconne, WI, the youngest child of Frank F. and Tessie S. (Cooney) Droske. The family moved to Grafton, ND and began to farm. Zella grew up as a child of the plains, full of life and full of smiles. She attended school in Grafton and then went to Maryville State Teacher’s college to earn her degree in Teaching. In Grafton, she met Norman F. Minor who was a surveyor, surveying the road in front of the family farm. He promptly proposed, and took her to Marshalltown, IA and they were wed on June 8, 1940.
After the war, they moved to St.Paul, MN where Norman secured a position at the Ford Motor Company. They resided in St. Paul until the early 1970’s. Norman, having family relations in Park Rapids, frequently visited the area and they fell in love with the little village of Osage. The beauty of Straight Lake inspired them and so they built their home on the lake and filled it with happiness and love. Zella and Norman were very active in their church and its various programs as well as the Osage Community and Park Rapids.
She is survived by her loving son, Bill (Peggy) Minor of Osage; daughter, Linda Minor; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
In her passing, she is joining in heaven her loving husband, Norman; her mother and father; brothers; sister and infant child.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN with Father Dwight Hoeberechts officiating. Casketbearers will be Bill Minor and Peggy Hurley. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service.

Zella, My special friend whom I call "mom". The first day I met Zella she instantly warmed my heart with her smile and laugh. Never did she ever complain, she was the happiest person I know. I had Zella, Bill and Peggy over for thanksgiving a couple of years ago and she took to my cat Buckwheat. Buckwheat instantly jumped in her lap and got comfortable. Zella just loved him. Zella loved my little cottage and thought "I could live in a place like this"! She was an adorable spirit, a wonderful friend, and the best "Mom" in the world! I'm lucky to have known her and spend her last 3 years with her. She brought joy to my heart and I love her as if she were my own mother. I'm going to miss her twinkling eyes when she smiled, her jolly laugh and her kind and generous spirit. She will be greatly missed but I know I have not lost her, as she will be an angel in heaven for all of us! Love you Zella forever and always! Your Friend, Pattie

I was so sorry to read that Zella has passed away. She was a very special lady. I enjoyed my time with her years ago when I use to clean her home, and the goodies she would share with me. May the Lord bless her family at this time of sorrow.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Phyllis
