She also pursued her nursing career and worked at the Methodist Hospital in Gary and Merrilville, Indiana in a career that spanned over 30 years. In their retirement, Betty and John moved to a home on Big Sand Lake near Park Rapids, MN. She loved spending as much time as possible outdoors on their beautiful lake property. Betty enjoyed raising her beautiful flowers into colorful splendor for all to see and enjoy. She had a profound love for animals and especially enjoyed her faithful dog, Belle. In her later years, she had volunteered a great deal of her time to help in the fundraising for the new Headwaters Animal Shelter. She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids. In her spare time, Betty enjoyed collecting Hummels and Precious Moments figures as well as working with ceramics. She was a member of the “Red Hatters”. Above all, Betty devoted her life to her husband, her daughter and her granddaughters who she loved with all her heart.

To Bettys Families, my thoughts and prayers are with you all on your loss. Betty was a very special person who always had a friendly smile and a happy word for all she knew. I remember her being at Coffee and Rolls on Sunday after Mass. She would always take time to visit and share a friendly smile and word. May She Rest Now in The Heavenly Home of Jesus-there is no pain there and only sunny skies will abound. May God Bless You All and May Betty Rest In Jesus Arms forever. With Sincere Sympathy and Prayers, Mark J. VonBank-Park Rapids, Minnesota.

My thoughts and prayers are with Betty's family during this time of loss and mourning. Oh how Betty will be missed by so many. She was a wonderful friend, always there and ready for anything! So many great memories, shopping, dinner out, dinner in, coffee time, church activities, whatever the event, Betty would rarely miss out on anything! So many great conversations, Betty loved to talk about anything but her eyes would always light up when she spoke of her family whom she loved from the bottom of her heart.
With deepest sympathy,
